BROOKIES EVERYWHERE!!!
« on: Dec 22, 2009, 01:34 AM »
Hey Folks,

Took a few video clips while fishing with some buddies this past weekend...We all had a blast catching some quality NH Brook Trout...Most were males between 16-17" weighing 2 to 2-3/4lbs with beautiful spawning colors!!!

Here are two of the better Brookies I caught, The larger one had a 13-1/2" girth...

Some nice video....

My Buddy Bob doubled up while changing his bait...

AWESOME brookies! We catch some nice brookies in the summer but aren't able to get into them through the ice as it would be 15-20 miles of hard snow machining to reach them!

Have a great week!

Those look like brood stock brookies! (are they?) We have them released every year into a couple of small lakes. We bring the kids, they have a ball catching them one after another and they will eat anything. Same markings with deformed fins and tails, really slimey too.

We have stocked lakes among the natural lakes, but the brood stock fish they release into one or two lakes. These brood stock fish were used for egg production in the hacheries and are 4 to 5 year olds when released. Thats why they are so big and ugly. I live within a hour drive of the GREAT Nipigon River where Dr Cook caught the world record and I catch 4-8lb natural specks almost every time out. Just wanted to know if you knew the fish you were catching were brood stock fish.  :)
