Title: Should I make the trip
Post by: Broll89 on Dec 31, 2017, 10:20 PM
Hey guys.  I've been trying to get out to Glen elder and it looks like this could be the year if the ice is good this upcoming weekend.  (Jan.5-7) any recent reports with this cold blast? I have a backup plan in mind since ice has been bad or non existent. but was hoping for this one.  I'm in colorado.  Feel free to pm me as well. Any help greatly appreciated.

I can’t say for sure but it’s been very cold for over a week , -8F here. The ice is good on the larger lakes in my area but the wind bites. I’m going tomorrow through Thursday and for the first time I will take my Frabill recon and heater.

The ice is probably 6" west of causeway and will continue to build. The fishing was slow on brush piles and channel.

I'm also looking at making a trip very soon from Minnesota, any updates on conditions and any fishing reports would be much appreciated.

You should be looking at Friday and Saturday. 60% chance of rain Sunday.
