Any tips on drying gloves
« on: Jan 04, 2014, 08:13 AM »
Are there any tips you guys have for drying your gloves after a long day of ice fishing? I usually just hang mine near a heater, but sometimes it takes a couple days. I have a pair of gloves I got for Christmas a couple years ago that have a polyester or nylon shell but the inside is like fleece, so it takes forever to dry. Last time I turned the glove inside out to dry put it's tedious and I'm afraid after awhile its going to damage the glove to do so.

Any tips? Anything you guys may have bought or built that helps. Thanks!

Go with a PEET dryer. I have used the cheaper versions and most the time they would break with the weight of the boots when trying to move them around or take with on trips.

The peet is worth every penny.

I was on a bus and just happened to be sitting on a news paper. This guy came up and asked. "Are you reading that ?"
I said  yes, stood up, turned the page and sat back down.

Do the Peet dryers have a fan in them, or is just relying on hot air rising?  I've got a Maxx Dry XL (got it from Cabela's) that is awesome!  I can dry my boots and gloves/mittens at the same time.  It has a blower that pushes the warm air through and really dries stuff quickly.  Mine is 10yrs old, we use it year round and it's still running great!

I know there is one PEET model that does have a fan in it. The one I have does not and have had no issues with it. My thought was a fan would be something to go wrong. I think the non fan one I have has a 25year warranty and the fan one was way less of a warranty. There is not much to them but they work great.
