didn't I see this somewhere else?  if you have to know, try it, and post your results...I don't have any bacon bits in the cupboard...I have however, thrown bacon pieces down the hole to keep the fish around, and I do know that bacon fat works on craps and perch...let us know...

since you're in Wells, you probably knocked over a whitetail, so use a piece of venison fat...cut into 1/4" strips, put two or three on your jig...or do the same with bacon fat...

Know a couple guys that cut real bacon into thin strips and tip jigs for Perch with it. It does work but makes me way to hungry to do it anymore. Poor mans Chena Bait?

hey, you use what you have...right now we're nailing craps on a chunk of hide soaked in Berkely Walleye attractant....most of the time it's not whats on for bait, it's how the jig(s) are moving...

True, have used strips of a chamois soaked in Fish Formula and did well on Perch and Crappies. Think they like the way it waves at 'em when jigged in place. Poor mans pork rind equivalent ;)

Bacon fat works great for pickerel, never really tried it much for perch but have caught a few big ones using long strips on a swedish pimple for pickerel
