Didn't catch anything on tipups, all on the pole in about 18 foot of water. The only way I could get a bite was to let the min sit on the bottom with a real slow pull every couple of minutes. Only one fish on the fall down, most of em were takin it right off the bottom between pulls.
I'd rather do it on the ice

Minnowguy, my buddy said there was quite a bit of good ice on Upper Sunshine and that the bite was good. If you go to Wardel let me know how it is, I've only fished there twice but it was pretty fun, I just gotta find the hot spots on it. Thanks man and have a good one. Mooks

I fished Poison on Monday. Ice is good, probably close to a foot. I caught one nice sauger right away on a tip up and that was it. I had 2 other flags and some real lite biters on the jigging poles, but I could not hook one. I could see them come by on the fish finder and then the poles would wiggle, but I could not get them to follow the jig up and bite good. It was like someone else said earlier, you move the jig and it scares them away. I wonder if these were crappie? You guys that are hooking these lite biters definitely have more skill and finesse than I.

Guys next to me caught just one trout.(12 lines, at least)

Has anyone been to Muddy, Cottonwood or Fremont yet? Is the ice good at the sisters yet?

Looking forward to trying it again, maybe next Saturday. I do want to try the West side next.

Wardel has perch, walleyes, crappie, carp. Harrington which is just West of wardel has bluegill, I think sauger and walleye don't rememger wich they stalked and perch and largemouth bass. Its been a few years since I have fished either one of the lakes.

Fished Saturday mainlake ledge from 17-40 feet. We only landed trout. lost one fish that we couldn't move and then the hook pulled out. i'm guessing a catfish or a big walleye. also had a couple other flags that had nothing there.

I've had good luck this year right down the beach from poison creek. Find a hole with 20-22 foot of water and tip a 1/8 oz jig with a minnow and let it sit all the way on the bottom. caught 6 more 15-18 inch walleye saturday. Thought i'd change it up and hit north muddy all day yesterday, pretty slow over there.
I'd rather do it on the ice

heading up to boysen on the 9th for a few days fishing. Would be more than happy if you could keep the post going on how the fishing has been and how the ice is. think we will be camped out around the sisters. Wish you all a great new year. tight lines to all.

Fished south of muddy Sunday and only caught one perch and only saw 3 others on the camera. Nice day for fishing though. Ice was about 15 inches.

is the ice fishing good north of tuff creek? I caught some good eyes there in July. Is the ice good for vehicles or orv's in that area?

Hump I wouldn't put anything other than a person on tough creek because of the hotsprings. If you do just be careful. A lot of folks seem to park at tough creek and motor over to the sisters.  I personally wouldn't though. Just my 2 cents
