Spent a few hours at Gelatt today, hooked 4 fish all really big fish. The first one snapped my line, the second one I fought for a while then the hook popped out. The 3rd and 4th ones I hooked briefly but I must not have gotten a good hookset cause they were gone quick. Ice is pretty good, I'd say around 6 inches, it's even frozen over by the aerator.

After getting frustrated I decided to go over to Twin Buttes, when I got there there were two trucks and they were fishing out of a hut by the boat ramp. I drilled a couple holes and fished for about a half hour, nothing. Ice was 11 inches.

Then I drove out and on my way out a drift in the road through my truck off the road into a drift where I spent the next hour digging my way out.
Today Sucked!!!

Some days it would have just been better to stay home and work on the honey do list.
Take a kid fishing, they make great pack mules.
Put the big ones back for another day eat the small ones.

I might head out there after class.(probably go to Cheyenne though) What you look for out there aren't depths but bottom you want sandy or short weed flats... If there are a lot of weeds coming up high off the bottom you need to move! Also go tiny out there

Headed out to Gellat here in a while. I was going to go hit Sloan's but my time out has been cut short... I will post a report and hopefully a pic or two! I will be driving a green dodge neon and sitting in a red quickfish 3  (still need to land the first fish in my shanty ;D)

I could think of worse things to be doing!  Did you get any hits at either?  I had some hits on Leazenby on Tuesday, but I only fished it for about 45 minutes.  I went flashy with mealworms.
