Seems like Loon Lake down near Wayland has safe ice before anywhere else.

I've got a nice little 100 acre pond close that always has ice 2-3 weeks before anywhere else around.  Not the best fishing, but its better than wishing.  Hopefully in a couple weeks we'll be in business.

I went for a drive today and most of the small water around campus was still holding skim ice at 3 Pm.

Yeah, one was almost froze over the whole way, but im not sure if ice fishing ice allowed on it or if it even holds fish for that matter.

I am just praying for some cold...  going to my wife's grandmothers for Christmas up in Cortland County and would hate to be stuck in the house all weekend with the family...  I need some ice to excape to!
