Vex Fl 8 se ?
« on: Jan 02, 2013, 04:56 PM »
I fished in shallow water up to 10 feet and had alot of bottom cluter. The gain was turned down to 0. I saw on the vex site they ofer a s cable to help with this. If I get this will it hurt the deeper water spots I hit if I leave it hooked up.
Thanks

usually you can just turn your gain up and be fine.that seams what it does is just dial the gain down more than you can without it.but i have never fished 50ft with it on.

Metal the S cable is meant for ten feet or less with clutter. Think Tyler Lake off the ramp. It just plugs in line so it only takes a minute to switch it in or out as needed. I keep mine stuffed in the battery box so I have it available.

These guys nailed it. You can leave it hooked up and just turn up the gain, but I would take it off if you are heading over 15-20 feet.

I have the s-cable and honestly I never use it even in shallow weedy waters.
