Leech Lake
« on: Dec 03, 2015, 11:39 PM »
Going to fish Leech Lake over Christmas weekend out of Trappers Lodge.  Looking for any advise on technics or hot lures to increase luck.  Haven't ice fished mn in a few years.  Mainly targeting walleye or perch would love to get a eel pout for my son to try eating.

You are two weeks too early, I see IDO fishing is having a get together Jan 7th.   at trappers landing.  Are you using their ice houses or fishing on your own?  Walleye on leech are a bite at sunset and sunrise, perch during the day, Pout in the middle of the night.  Northland rattle jigs are my favorite jig on Leech Perch colored glow.  Troutnpout for eelpout.. a tip up shallower with a shiner.  Good luck.  Check out IDO last year one of their first shows was on Leech last winter.
