Makes a guy want to get in line with the illegals at the Canadian border. Bet they still have ice up there.

There was fishable ice this morning but I think it's over. My last fish of the Jersey ice season was small but a cool fish. My first tiger of the year.

Fished all day Saturday in Andover 3.75"-4" everywhere we drilled.  Had obligations yesterday but would have loved to get back up there, hot Perch bite with some nice Bass mixed in.

Was fishing State Park at H on Saturday.

Ice was 7 to 8 inches about 50 feet from shoreline and getting into 1.5 by shoreline.

fishing was nothing short of amazing with multiple of fish. Overall landed about 6 bass, 8 pickerels, 1 crappy and tons of perch and sunnies.

No it wasn't me getting fished out on Sunday, but I did get into drink up to my chest when leaving on Saturday.

Be safe out there.

Andre

I fished Saturday upstate NY near Eldred and Highland Lake. We caught some pickerel and 1 sunfish. The ice was deteriorating rapidly as the day went on. 8 inches of ice. It don't look good.Lou

Yeah, I had some buddies fishing in that area on saturday too. They also reported 8" of ice. I was hoping to cash in on some of that this weekend but it's not looking too good. I'm bringimg all the ice gear but just in case there is no ice I'll have the open water pole with me too. And if that don't work I'm sure to catch a buzz!!

We were up in Sullivan County this weekend. Friday showed thin gray ice on about 80 % of the lakes we checked. Left today and the same lakes were 90 % open water.  :'(

Have any miracles occurred since the last post? Anywhere in NJ have safe ice? I'll be visiting from Colorado the week of 3/5, and not sure if I should bring the jigging rod or a fly rod.

Any suggestions are appreciated-- tight lines!

Fly rod for sure.

Any of these waters should have some trout around as they were stocked in the fall. http://www.njfishandwildlife.com/flstk16.htm?prompt=0

If your down for warm water then just search under the fishing locations thread on the NJ portion of this site. Should give you an idea of majority of the lakes in North Jersey.

Appreciate the info, Forest. Looks like I just missed the season. See if I can't snatch a few walleyes from the Delaware, or maybe a few trout from the Pequest or KLG.
