I use the 80/20 rule you need 80% of the tackle to catch 20% of the fish

We're also seeing some channels capping over and the weather looks cold for the next 7 days. Should be able to at least get on some channels next week! Lets hope we don't see any warming trends in the next couple weeks!

What lakes are you thinking of dropping a line in around Plymouth? Just curious, I used to fish some of them.

Went duck hunting this AM in La Porte Co. and had to break through 1' of clear solid ice. Closer to shore there was 1 1/2. If the weather holds, it'll be a few days.Sure was nice to see the ice again! The ducks didn't want anything to do with the spread, but I did get a limit of geese.

I always heard the rule of thumb to be:  If it's in the single digits, it'll make an inch a day.... Still should put us on ice by the weekend on the smaller waters and bays and buyous of the bigger water don't ya think?  Crossing my fingers!!! :D
