Essential Gear

I'm making a checklist of items I will take ice fishing, have I missed anything?

Must-Have
1.   Rod & Reel
2.   Tackle Box
3.   5-gallon bucket
4.   Bait (mealworms, wax-worms, night-crawlers etc)
5.   Sled
6.   Ice-Auger
7.   *Safety Picks*
8.   Coveralls, Gloves, Stocking hat, socks, underclothes, *Cleat Boots*
9.   Flashlight
10.        Wallet + Fishing License

Extra & Handy
1.   Thermos
2.   Snacks
3.   Hand-warmer packets
4.   Pole Holder
5.   Candle + Coffee can
6.   NotePad + Pen
7.   Disposable Camera

Sometimes extra gloves help
 Ice scooper
 Extra Cloths in the truck incase the unexpected happens.
Cell phone for emergency
fishfinder?
measuring tape
2 way radios? to talk to  your fishing buddy when searching or too listen in on how other people are doing :)

thats all i can think of for now

You forgot the SHANTY! and for that you will need a buddy heater.

and if you have a shanty, then you need a two burner cook top, skillet, pans, food,
plates, utensils, cups, dish soap, paper towels, salt & pepper, ketchup, mustand, matches,
propane, pancake turner, propane, radio, sun screen, sun glasses, binoculars, hat, chapstick,
satellite dish, monitor, underwater fish camera, flasher, broom, hand axe, saw, jack, wood blocks,
rope, folding table, chairs, deck of cards, ... ;)

besides a complete dry set of clothes in the vehicle , bring an extra pr of shorts for that other unexpected happening that occurs ( cracking ice)     :D

you can never take too much, its always better to have and not need than need and not have when your in the great outdoors, especially ice fishing, your in freezing weather on top of frozen water :tipup:

Dont forget a rope to pull your buddy out of the water. My High School buddy used to laugh at me every trip because I brought a rope wit ha weight on it out. Well 7 years later I had to use that same rope to save someone.

Extra rope, extra preserver, and ice pick's could have, and WILL SAVE LIVES!! I'm much smarter now, and older, when on the ICE! SAFETY FIRST!  :)
