Interesting, thanks for sharing.  I am about to order a 10ah lithium for my FLX-28.  In the two photos of the Vex, is that the same setup just with the battery switched out from SLA to lithium??  What size lithium pack do you have in it?
Kinda surprised to see a 4.25 lb weight savings going lithium.  I was expecting it to be around 3 lbs based on my research.

how many amps on the tracer battery?

the new marcum shuttle uses a 12 amp hour battery, so it will be heavier, but also have longer run times.

This lithium is a Tracer lithium battery 8ah with a weight of 1.32 lbs.
Tracer batteries make a 10 ah also that weighs 1.62 lbs.
Tracer batteries little more expensive but very well built i have had mine for 5 years just like new. And yes the only difference is the battery in the 2 photos.

Wow, those are some pretty light lithium batteries!  Too pricey for me though.  I'm going with the Dakota 10ah.  Just under 3lbs, or about half of 1290 9ah SLA my Vex came with.
More excited about the flat discharge rate though than anything.

How do those last on the ice? I know these Dakota ones will be good for sure but just wondering on these

I have run the tracer battery on the ice for 5 years with no problems.  I have always brought my flasher in for the night though i would never leave any lithium battery out for the night. As with any battery when it is charging or discharging it creates heat.  I fish %90 outside without heat.

I usually only fish max 8hrs and it hasn't died in that amount of time. Charge every day I use it.
