So, lead doesn't it work anymore? Or is it just evil?
To fish or not to fish? That's a stupid question!

What is this "lead" you speak of?

I know what you're saying. I get like that with some stuff too. I also know it's illegal in some states. Even at that I'll carry both until it's not legal here. Sometimes a little slower drop makes a big difference.

i carry a few that are left overs and new from before buying tungsten. when i need the room to carry more tungsten the lead will be history.
the lead versions not made in tungsten are in the bottom of the open bait box mixed in with ice flies and glass jigs and tungsten jigs and such.

i quit using lead because the hooks are much larger (both gaps and wires and barbs) and harder to hide with one spike. when the bite is slow i found out tungsten performs better because they take their time looking over your bait more. it out performs in all conditions for that matter. also, the paint on lead comes down onto the hook many times and the ledge that creates likes to ruin the spikes. tungsten is always clean hooks and doesn't have that problem or any of the other problems i mentioned.
