I use a 10" Jiffy STX
Anything over 8" is totally unnecessary.
Disagree. For pike, the bigger the hole the better especially with thick ice. Easier to get the sucker up the hole and doesn't cut the fish as much if a bigger hole is used.Just my opinion.
I use a 9" jiffy , when we went to buy it we were going to get an 8 but 9's were on sale...bigger hole for less money
Strikemaster (Lazer) with exchangeable drills....8 and 10 inchI bought the 10 inch drill shaft as I got tired of drilling 3 8's ie(Image removed from quote.)or(Image removed from quote.)Have got some lakers caught in a 8 inch hole. The whole head occupied the bottom of 8 inch hole and the fattness of the laker starting from head back couldn't even budge up hole. Estimated that one between 50-60 lbs but he is still swimming. No problem with 10 yet but have only had one year.
had to do it kid right here beside me (3) said look "MICKEY MOUSE"
So in answer to your question....auger size: 8 and 10, how big is your hole: varies
Just looking for a general consensus for future reference...Cheers
