Pike around Curtis
« on: Mar 03, 2012, 11:23 PM »
Hey everybody, I live in the Grand Rapids area and get up there about three or four times in the winter to fish. I absolutely love it up there, I have the usual lakes that I go to for pike, but I was wondering if anybody knows of anywhere in particular that I should try. I'm not asking for anyones honeyhole, just some tips. PM me if you want to. Thanks in advance. ;D

South lake is full of pike, mostly undersized, but I catch quite a few around 22".  Just look for some weeds, mostly under 15 feet of water.  Millicoquins is also full of small pike, I try to find the edge of weeds there since the lake is mostly covered in weeds.    I've heard of an over 40" coming out of Millicoquins earlier this winter.  All the lakes are pretty tough sledding right now with the snow, but that will change soon.  Good luck.
