I actually pull the batteries out and use them all year in my ff/GPS combo on the kayak.

me 2 i generally use my camera and flasher year round so i always have it charged as with most companies they make open water transducers for there flashers and they work good in open water

I simply keep them plugged into the charger continously when not in use, even during the summer...am I messing up my batteries?

Chris - not sure if that is a good idea. Would think that would have some affect on the batteries long-term life.
