Need info on Gull lake, Brainerd area
« on: Jan 08, 2014, 03:13 PM »
Hi my name is Brock.Three friends and I are planning to fish the Brainerd Jaycees tournament on the 25th. We are all pretty novice ice fishermen. We are going for the experience. I am trying to find a place where we can fish the night before. Can we drive on Gull Lake? Is there public parking near the lake. Where is a good bait shop? I really appreciate any answers or advice.

Here is a ton of info on gull

http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/lakefind/results.html?n=10&start=0&maxhits=-1&lake=gull&county=Cass

I'm not real fond of any of the bait shops in that area. I usually hit one (preferably Prince Bait) on my way up 169. There are several public accesses to the lake. I'm not sure of any being plowed, or conditions on the lake for driving. We have a bunch of snow here by Mille Lacs.
