St. Paul area..Im comin up this weekend

Hi, I am from central Iowa and my girlfriend is dragging me up, last minute, to st paul area this weekend and I figured I could get some fishin done but have no idea where to go. I have only a hand auger, I was wondering if the ice is too thick for that or not. I was also wondering what lakes are readily accessable and how the bite was doing. Any info is greatly appreciated as I would love to get on some fish(perch if biting)

I am busy this weekend otherwise I would show you some spots. Short of that I will try to give you some info.

There are a number of lakes readily accessible in the St. Paul area. St. Paul is in Ramsey County.

White Bear is good for starters. A little bit North you have North and South Lindstrom and North and South Center.

There is Forest Lake, Bald Eagle, Phalen.

I usually buy my bait at Blue Ribbon Bait in Oakdale. They will have some good info for you.

Sorry, no chance for me this weekend. I am going out for a little bit this evening. The wife is working this weekend so I have parenting duty.

I got up to the cities friday, went out saturday to white bear and absolutely POUNDED on the dink perch fun time, and boy am I glad I bought my non-resident license cause I got checked twice. Sunday went to Bald eagle and ran tip ups for northern, sat out for only about an hour and a half and managed a little 23 incher, first northern through the ice and my first ever on a tip-up. I only had a handauger and I have never delt with ice so thick in my life!!! I only drilled 3 holes the whole time I was up there    I was gonna give you a call, but I left your number here in IA. We got back home monday and left for Devils Lake, ND tuesday and managed to freeze our @$$es off for 4 days, it was COOOOOLD!!!!!!!!! We managed 23 fish the whole 4 days between 14 of us, so it was REALLY slow up there.

But thanks a lot HARD H2O, it made my whole couple of trips better to land that northern through the ice, even though it was a dink!! I will definitly get a hold of you if Im ever in the area again, which will be soon cause I had a blast
