Kenders K-rip Mini Vibe Bsit
« on: Nov 16, 2019, 10:55 AM »
I just took delivery of 4 of these baits and thought I would give a quick review. I have NOT fished these baits yet.

I bought the 15mm (1/64 oz) size.  From photo you can see how tiny it is. I am near Chicago and our perch and bluegill don't tend to be big. So I thought the smallest size will work better.   I think there are rattles in the bait but I really needed to shake the bait to hear/feel them.  The bait also comes with a single hook to swap with the red treble. All of the baits came with red trebles.

The bait glows and I used a 400 lumens bicycle light, not UV. Glow is ok but it really started fading after appx 30 seconds.

I expect safe ice in about 4 weeks and try them out then.

I tested the glow output with the Venom's UV light.  That light really get's things glowing.  I did not time the glow resilience life.

Only the wonder bread pattern is glow.  I wish they had more glow variety, but this one is good enough to start.

For more information read my MN nice journal

Check out the Kanoe jigs plus others! Plenty of selection. Type in 'glow jigs' in "search all products'.......

I would not be surprised to see them work. This pond I manage for friend of the family. Has huge gills in it but is overrun with y.o.y. gills. Thousands of them running the shoreline. So I trap them and use to stock other ponds that are new or suffer from not enough fish.

Anyway while waiting for the traps to work. I fish and use some of the gills as bait. Some of you would be amazed at the size of gills that clobber their own kind. Here is what I caught so far in this pond on small bluegills. Channel catfish , largemouth bass, crappie , yellow perch and bluegill. I think other than two huge grass carp are the only species in this pond. The yellow perch I introduced to help control the bluegill population.

So this bait should work well. I base my opinion on other small rip baits performance that I use. The flatt shad, slab raps, rippin raps , z-vibe etc.  Will probably order a few of these myself to test.

Looks as if they should supply a tweezer along with the bait to remove it from the fishes mouth.

Here's a size comparison for you guys.
Top is a 19mm 1/32 oz K-Rip (middle)
Middle is the 1" 1/16 oz Z-Viber
Bottom is the 15mm 1/64 oz K-Rip (smallest)
