Yea I take that same ride, every day... Been open for a while... I like the quinni especially when it rolls around late may and june when there is really no one around. July and august are sometimes even better depending on water flow... Its nice to hit up a little fishing to break up the ride home..

By the way there is a small section you can fish now if it is ice free. Have gotten early lakers, salmon and rainbows over the years

They have been saying that for honestly 20 years not happening anytime soon. I'm so used to fishing it with the dam I would honestly hate to see it go. The fish do just fine with it there.

Tip #4 Do not try to exfiltrate before its open.  Even if threatened by having to do your morning business.  They will get you on your way out!

Tip#5 If they used infrared instead of the boat spotlight mass would be making bank on tickets.

#6 Nothing better than a bush and a few buddies.

They won't find me this year. No opener for me. If all stays on schedule I'll be at Thompson Speedway with the trailer for the Ice Breaker Weekend. Coarse I might need a loader to dig the trailer out if this weather keeps up.  :o :o

ive never heard of $500. everytime i saw them ticketing people it was $50. once i saw the wardens give an option of walk out to the parking lot or stay and take the 50$ fine.

Yeah I heard about that but I cannot find a link to it anywhere. Anyone see this posted? In all honesty 1 tautog is enough for a meal but I do enjoy putting some in the freezer as well. Might just have to cook them up on the boat   ;D   I am also curious to see how many people actually follow it if they couldn't follow the 3 per person/10 per boat limit.

Is it even worth a charter trip for tautog or Striped bass these days? Unless you are strictly C&R, it just does not make sense.

They haven't officially confirmed it yet but it is basically guaranteed you won't see the changes untill around the end of April. It sucks because I just stumbled upon an amazing tog spot on buzzards bay last spring while sea bass fishing and I was getting a boat limit in less than a hour. Now I find a spot and I can only take one... Oh well. But they are going to raise the limit from 3 to 5 in the fall.

CT is getting a reduction as well. Im pretty sure every state is. Part of a coast wide reduction plan.
