Got out today

Went out today looking to go to Princeton again. Stopped there and the ice didn’t look ideal which I was surprised about. Call a coworker of mine who lives on Monomonac and he let me park there to fish (access is pretty thin there unless you live or know someone to get on). Ice was a beautiful 6-8” of black stuff. Ton of flags but only 2 pickerel and what I think was a rock bass?

I thought it looked more like a perch by the way it’s dorsal was shaped but it’s belly was pretty brown, maybe it crossed paths with something 🤔

I should start keeping them, just haven’t gotten into jigging much (that one was on a shiner ). Lotta free meals to be had that I should take advantage of

Cool place to ice fish.  Been there a few times.  A lot of walking from public access areas.

Good to hear about that much ice in the area.
