Gyration Jig
« on: Feb 12, 2006, 07:05 AM »
 Is there a remedy to stop a jig from spinning when you stop jigging (paused) caused by line twist? Talkin light lines up to 4lb. test. Heard of straight as possible baiting of ice jig and adding more bait. Anymore secret remedies?

Add a small swivel 3-4 feet up your line can help. :)

that is why the buzzstick works, the vibrations from the rod keep the lure from spinning.  If I feel that the lure is spinning and it is costing me fish, I just gently pump the rod constantly and that keeps the lure from spinning.

When the jig reaches the bottom I lift and let it spin itself out before raising it to desired depth. I have found swivels don't work because there isn't enough weight.
I don't know, maybe with high-quality swivels like Spro...?

I don't know about other guys, but I cannot stand to use swivels inline on anything lighter than 1/8oz...it just completely ruins the feel for me - same with split shot.
