I watched from the bridge this evening, seen only 1 fish on the ice.  Also had a buddy that fell through out there today.

Fishing has been very good for numbers with lots of sorting the last three days. last evening started slow but finished fast. Heard about the guy falling thru. He left the group and didn't check the ice. Ice in the group was only 3in so that alone should have told him to be extra careful. From what I heard he only got wet and didn't lose anything. Hopefully he learned from his mistake. I don't know many ice fisherman that have a few years under there belt that haven't got wet atleast once. It's not fun but sure wises you up.

I believe I will wait till after the weekend,  hopefully the wind keeps the snow off the ice and we put on the inches with the cold predicted.  Checked a few farm ponds yesterday, with most being around 2 inches of very soft ice.

The warm temps today has pretty much softened up everything that I saw. Hope the snow we get is small and the temps are in the negative. Off on vacation all week and really don’t want to drive far to get on.

Hahaha what blizzard 🤣.   I've drove through worse and fished in worse lol.    But I'll still be careful.   Hopefully now after throwing the lil bit snow off the drive. Lol

Risky. There was only a small area that has been good not including yesterday. Not sure what the conditions were by the end of the day yesterday. I don't think we will get much ice making done with this blanket even when the real cold stuff moves in. Unless you fished it the last few days and know exactly the area that was good I'd stay away tomorrow. I think we are getting to much snow to even allow fast ice to come on with the real cold stuff. The cold spell is followed by a warm spell with rain. I think we may be still searching good ice for another week and a half if all goes well.

I think you're spot on as usual bigr.  I wish it was different like everyone else.  Don't push it if you don't know what you're doing and don't go alone
A friend of mine traveled to the state line today and was unable to get on a channel.  The weather conditions are producing VERY uneven ice thicknesses.   When you do venture out make sure you have a spud and use it.

Everything i scouted yesterday was soft ice.  There were smLl areas of solid ice, then it would change to softer stuff.  With this snow uou def. wont be able to see the change.  I will be curious to see how it builds with this snow on top.  Its a good time to error on the side of caution tight now

Those 5 guys were taking a pretty big risk if you ask me.  Those cold temps and snow can't be very good on what little ice there is there.

We got 37* high and rain tomorrow keep that in mind that what ice is there isn't great to start with. From there on out single digit lows and teens high. Mid next week should be much safer, I'll wait till then.  Everyone wants to be the first bragger to report a limit and takes the risk. No first photo or limit is worth it. Not to sound cruel, but hard to feel sorry for guys that fall through, we all know what is considered safe and what isn't.
