That should be a big N O.  It just locked up recently.  It'll take some time to actually build up ice.  The smaller lakes in the areas aren't even fishable yet.

I fished a channel off the See for a couple hours this morning. About 2.5 to 3" of bouncy ice. Fish didn't bite too well though, only got 2 good ones and 2 medium sized ones. Got out a little late may have been better earlier. Ice started to show some stress so I didn't push it. Nice to get out though! Be careful if you go ice thickness varied quite abit. SPUD,SPUD,SPUD! Still not worth it . A hundred lb man msybe . Im usually one of the first on over this way and besides the gardens and a few other ponds its pretty dicey. Ice is definitely weird this year .  Could be 2.5 here and 1 not far away .  Bring a spud and use it ! Be safe .
