Nice! How far north are you? UP?
-
Thats awesome, those are cool looking fish. I have never caught one but maybe someday.
-
Cool! Good job! Hex
-
NICE MAN! those are supposed to taste awesome.
-
Good times can’t wait until next year but we need snowdogs
-
Burbot, (known as the poor mans lobster). Suppose to be delicious... I have never tried one, but I am going to add to my bucket list. One of these days.
-
Burbot is probably one of the best fish I have ever have had thanks crappiejigger29 for giving me one so I can enjoy one again since i haven’t had it for a few years and because I got skunked.
-
I've seen pictures of guys catching em on Traverse Bay. Kind of weird looking fish, but heard they taste real good! Hex
-
Hex it's a weird looking fish for sure. But tastes Amazing. Tried a bit last night.
Mpyromike sorry you got skunked with us this trip man next year we will get on em and beat em up. N yeah definitely need a sled or snowdog for next year I ain't digging that wheeler out again LMFAO.
I'm building a track sled on the off season for sure.
-
I think we need to target them football sized mutant perch as well. Lol
-
For sure those things were crazy big
-
Sounds like you boys ran into a bit of snow up there! My brother lives west of Cadillac and says they have gotten well over 100 inches of snow this year and it's still snowing and blowing big time. Hex
-
Hex. Yes there was alot of snow. We beat the piss outta my old Polaris sportsman 700. I'm now looking into getting a snowmobile or a snowdog/tracksled or building a tracksled from a bon working snowmobile.
It was rough on the old wheeler. Got it stuck a few times n the last time we got it stuck good and took a while and all 3 of us on the trip had to dig it out. Lots of work and exhausted all of us.
This trip was a first for me that far north and it was a big lesson to learn from especially since I'll be making a few trips back there next year.
Hopefully we limit out next time we go back.

There is quite a few cheaper sleds for sale rite now . I bought a nice one really cheap and will be using it hopefully next yr on the ice . And congrats on the successful trip ! Anytime you can go that far away from home and go in blind and come out like you did is a Job well done !! Always wanted to do that maybe next yr ....

I don't know what they called them, but I saw two guys earlier this year at Wawasee. Looked like they had cut a snowmobile down to the motor and track, then put long handles on them and fashioned a sled on behind that they rode in and hauled their gear. Pretty cool looking rigs and seemed to work pretty good! Hex
-
Hex that's what I'm going to do. Build me a track sled. We seen a guy with a snowdog up there and it was pretty slick
-
Not familiar with "snow dogs "! These things were hauled on those platforms that go into your Reece hitch receiver and the sled went the back of their trucks. He said he went ahead and registered it since the CO he talked to about it hadn't gotten back to him on requirements. Pretty cool rig! Hex

Anyone have any pics of the snowdog????
-
I didn't get a picture of those things at the See! Wish I would have now, at first I thought it was somebody's pipe dream. But after he fired it up and took off I changed my mind! Hex

Anyone have any pics of the snowdog????
Search on this site. Several posts and even some how to for building your own.

This is a actual snowdog. I don't know if it's the compact or standard but these things are sweet, I'll definitely be making something myself n fabricate it to be lightweight for the ice down here.

If you live in the UP or Wisconsin they are called eel pout. Tasty slimy shiits. Don’t tell anybody but you can smash em at Lake Winnebago. Much closer than the UP eh. Us Hoosiers can’t fathom the snow up there. I have plowed through 2 feet of snow on the lake road in early October up there.

Icehole it was some mean snow but the slush and ice between the snow and sluch is what git us on the 4wheeler. I need something with a track next time I go up that far north.
