Cabelas Shanty Pinholes
« on: Feb 01, 2014, 01:22 PM »
These are actually Clam Bigfoot 2000XL popups with black material.

I got my new shanty and like a good guy, I set it up in the front yard before taking it out. I notice ALOT of pinholes where the stitching is done. Now, I get that pinholes are going to form from the thread going through which is why seams are often taped. I'm not worried about those little pinholes letting moisture in, but I would be bummed if they turned into more.

Has anyone else experienced this with the Cabelas shanties? Is it normal? If so, I'll just not worry about it and see what happens. If it is not normal, then I will see about exchanging it if they have any left.

I have the same with my rapala shack. It was the same in almost all the thin walled (300) pop ups i was in in the store across brands, so i would say it is normal.

I checked the one at cabelas and it wasn't as bad so I exchanged it and I'll see tomorrow if the new one is better.
