What to use on you line on a rod holder?

  Hey guys I just got a rod holder for my jig stick. And I have jigs and I don't know if I should go and put a shinner on, or a jig or a shinner on the jig?! Help don't know what to do! Tell me how to use a rodholder for ice fishing!!!

I use mine as a tip up so to speak, I have a reel on the rod with a realy loud drag. I rig it like the rest of my tip ups and send it down. I typicaly use it as my "mobile"  or try a different area thing.
