It was 43 here yesterday. Right now it's -9 and blowing like crazy. We can't complain though. I was out yesterday evening and we had ~16 inches of ice and the crappies were bitting.

I thinking about packing my ice fishing gear away, really I can't see it happening,I'm depressed, it's FEB.,its an out of state trip or a bust in Pa. Last year was great I thinking of Quinte,Simco, or somewhere in Minn.

We had about a one day thaw here (almost killed the ice), but is supposed to cool down again (but not real cold).  I'm getting tired of these weird winters

I work on Alaska's north slope in Prudhoe Bay.  During the first week of my last hitch (I work 2 weeks on - 2 weeks off) we had ambient temp of -50F (-70 with windchill), a week later it hit +41.  Two days after that we had a superbad blizzard and the temps went back down to -30.  I am glad to be back home for now where it has been a balmy +10F.

Highs in the 30's means lows below freezing which equals ice making.

I have been hunting or fishing almost everyday of my life. The rest have been wasted.
