How to fish for walleye

Never done it befor in CT. How deep shold I go. I just ordered chubby darters and a new jigging combo.If there any more info plz let me no

That can be a pretty tough thing to explain.  If youve never fished the body of water your planning on going to; you may have a tough time without a flasher or a depth sounder.  Otherwise look for dropoffs and humps, and dont be afraid to go shallow.  Try different areas/depths and remember what spots you've covered and what time of day.  Once you develop the pattern where your fishing, eyes are easier to catch than youd think.  A good bet for eyes is in the dark just before sunrise, and just after sunset.  Do a search for walleye posts on the board and read up, research is pretty important regardless of where the report is from.
