Hey guys just out of curiosity I went to the Farmers Almanac and looked up this coming winter and it had all this stuff about being a coldest and snowyest winter in 20 years!!! I can't wait so look for a lot of acorns. So you better get ready for a cold and super snowy winter on the ice. Some one can look for a winter weather chart on the Farmers Almanac website. Let it snow!!!

Bring it on man. My buddy and I were all pumped up to put a full day in on the water yesterday. After 6 hrs in the heat and sun we were both ready for naps and a/c. We're not very old dudes either. Officially set with summer.

I'm hoping for a nice warm winter so I can get out more.
Going out when it's colder than -30C blows!!!!!

Last year we had 6 weeks of -40C or colder with one of those weeks -50C or colder.
The coldest day last winter here was -54C which is about -65F!!!!

Too frosty to do anything but stay inside.

Hopefully that's a good sign of another long winter in New England.

Last year was predicted to be "numbingly cold and snowy" for NE. Here in CT it was colder than the past couple seasons, but not particularly snowy. Which worked out to be a pretty good ice fishing season.

I watch the NY news as there isnt anything on TV locally up here I have to laugh my butt off when they complain about the numbing temps of 28 degrees lol

I love watching the news when only 24 inches paralizes you Maine boys!

Bring on the backhoes for this years Lake effect Season! Tug Hill 390 inches last season!

-65F that's only 97* below freezing

As far as snow goes...Central NY blows away any region in the U.S. thanks to the Great Lakes...but as Snagger says the Tug Hill....thats just an area that cant be compared to anywhere, even just 15 miles south of that line gets feet less of snow per winter.........

yep it is the city stations but I can deal with the snow Im no stranger to it I have yet been stranded in the snow and I have had my fair share of it all my lifeI know about your dustings you get with the lake effect that isnt even a problem

Iowa winter sucked last year. Too many warm days. Ice was gone way too early.

My season began on December 6th and ended abruptly on February 21st due to illness, I guess it is all relative???

With all the snow we get in my area, I would be extremely happy to get 3 solid months of ice. We usually only get 2 1/2 broken months of safe ice!

More cold less snow means more ice fishing and less snow shoveling. I would rather be drilling 18 inches of ice than shoveling 1 inch of snow!!!!
