Went out and fished for a bit this afternoon, what a zoo! I only saw a couple of perch put on the ice. Sleds, four wheelers, trucks, tractors, chainsaws, you name it, it was running all over the place, through peoples traps, around and around.  I only fished for a few hours and called it good. Might as well have tossed a few waterproof speakers down my holes and blasted away. That and about half a million dogs. Sheesh.... I need to work weekends and fish weekdays I think.

Yeah, one capsized on that rock jetty at the narrows a few years back. It's probably still down there.  :D ;D ;) ::)

But really, there are fewer there every year it seems, its possible that the silt that has been washed in from erosion ever since the flood of '97 might have ruined the sandy bottom that sunfish need to breed. I remember seeing a fair number of them in the early 90's and only one or two this past year again.

I walked past it last Sunday afternoon - nobody home.  Nice rugged shack - it's huge!
Does it double as a hunting blind in the off season??  Roof on hydraulic lifts to swing away for geese passing overhead? Mesh zipper windows for arrows to fly through? Just some ideas for year round enjoyment............ :D ;)

I haven't been out this year... when I do go I only go out during the week - nice having some weekdays off.  Will be out there at some point today... won't be in a shack though.
