Title: Deadmans Basin Report?
Post by: Riverb8 on Jan 23, 2007, 09:41 AM
Planning on going to Deadman's this weekend.  Does anyone know what the ice conditions are?  I thought I would set out a tip-up with some smelt in hopes of catching a tiger muskie.  Does anyone have any recommendations for what type of set-up I should use for jigging.  Any info is appreciated.  I will post a report when I get back.

jigmaster,

Thanks for the info, I will check it out.  I am still curious if anyone has been there recently and how they did.

I will give you guys a report when I get back.

Fished Deadman's last weekend 1/27.  It had about 15-inches of ice.  Fishing was slow, didn't even get a nibble.  Didn't see anyone else catch anything.  As is common at Deadman's, the wind was really blowing.  By 1:00 everyone, including myself, pretty much packed it up and went home or elsewhere.

I think I might try Petrola or Castlerock in the next week or so.  I will let you guys know how I do.
