Title: Post storm fishing
Post by: Fishin_603 on Feb 06, 2023, 05:18 PM
Stayed home Saturday due to the cold but was able to get out for a few hours on Sunday at a local lake. Was targeting bows and browns. Set 3 jackers out in about 30 feet of water 5-15 feet below the ice and then a few closer to shore. Used shiners and salmon eggs, caught one stockie brown on the deeper set on a salmon egg and then a Larry also in deeper water on a shiner. Was hoping to catch a nice holdover but no such luck.  Egged a bunch of holes in the shallows but only saw 1 hole with the eggs missing. Nice day to be out

The snow dog is perfect for ice fishing idk if I’ll take it out on a mountain to pull a deer out though. Tips easy and hard to steer it on an incline.

Yeah honestly I paid for this thing so I need to get the most of it lol. Coulda been the way I was driving it to just need to figure the machine out on terrain,I’m sure it’ll get easier. The other day I saw someone using an electric fat bike hauling ice fishing gear like it’s nothing! I talked to the guy for a little while and he says that he could pulled deer out with it too but I would have to see that to believe it. I think it’s called the quick cat but it’s a pretty cool concept. He had his tires studded for the ice. I think i might be getting one in the near future. Would be good for getting to and from spots quietly for hunting.

Yep a quiet cat.

I pulled one out 2 miles last year with a Rad bike. Same idea. Did it no problem. I had to drag it about 300 yards up out a bowl til I hit a skid rd but then came walk. Had it on the game cart with wheels

Ok I guess it’s the truth😂 is that the quick cat? Does it have good battery life and is it ok going up hills etc?

It’s a Rad bike same thing really. Yep never charged it once at moose camp and yes it’ll go up hills with a patch buck on the back and a steep incline you’d haveto help pedal but it’s got more but than you think

Just get the one that is just under the legal wattage registration  ;) also look for a hub drive not the midrive motor, imo reason is that most riding is on rough terrain if you bust up the derailleur or snap a chain you can use e motor alone to move along
