I heard march panfish and others start to move into shallow water? 10 fow or so? any thoughts?
also what about white fish on green bay / lake michigan?
-
Perch start to spawn when the water temp is about 45. Usually April. They do school up prior to spawning and are often found in shallow water at this time. I believe this is due to warmer water temps from run off etc. The shallow water bite defineately seems to pick up the last 2 weeks of ice season.

I can tell you the fish get allot more agressive and seem to always have full stomachs.

Great fishing in March.

i was gonna say the same as mealworm. Stay on top of the ice. Fished a local spot monday and today. Ice lost atleast 5 inches. be very careful in march atleast here in the northeast.

Thanks guys, thinking about hitting up the bay where a river comes out into it, theres normally perch there.. and white fish,
any other tips people can add in, thatd be great, Im fishing WI
and this year has been horrible for me, literally everytime i go fishing something breaks, last 3 times it was my auger recoil, but i bought a new one, and ordered some brand new blades and put them on... auger works like a champ now....
is it better to "set up camp" this time of year, at location i said prior or drill 30+ holes in my area and bounce around... i have a vexilar so i just need to know stay or hole hop....
-
hole hop until you find them and then fish it hard
