33 here at the moment. Skim ice on small ponds as of sunset although I’m sure it won’t last long. Heading in the right direction at least. As of 10 mins ago I’m 100% ready to kick off 22-23 ice season!! Besides picking up some spikes and minnows at some point

if things dont start changing,you wont be putting on any miles!!!!!it was 52 degrees here in inlet and there isnt any ice anywhere,im actually dumping the boat in raquette friday to do some trolling.i know its still somewhat early and things can change quickly,but dont see any real cold weather in the near future.

i have  a  qestion  related  to  water temptures ...if in fact  the water  temps are  staying warmer  longer then in the past would  not fish be getting bigger???? for  example   bass in the south are much larger then in new york they have a longer  growing season ....would it not  hold true if  it is getting warmer  northern fish would  get bigger????

In Irondequoit, 31 with one inch of snow on the ground and snowing. NO ICE in the Webster cove of Irondequoit Bay as of yesterday at noon. With all the construction up there for the new Webster Park it might be a bit of a challenge to fish in the customary spot.

Man the weather in WNY been all over the place. Temps being a major factor, but even the earthquake we got yesterday. **censored**? Hope I can get out fishing over feb. break 18th-24th, might have to take the show on the road and find good ice.  Ice wont develop but ice out weather won’t really happen either and just a bunch of snow also as disappointed i am i was unable to catch a pre spawn pike or pickerel i really hope this snow really floods and allows a good spawn for the pike and pickerel especially the pickerel at hemlock because in 2021 the water levels were so bad i doubt they were even able to spawn
