Checked Brewster Beach the last two mornings. Sad. Only about a half inch maybe an inch. Two whacks with the spud and that's it. Spider webbed as I tried to walk on it.
Along w/ a bunch of other spots, I checked Brewster Beach on Sunday & it was wide open. Wind was keeping it from freezing. My guess is that the water was super chilled & as soon as the wind cut out, it started to freeze up. So, I would say we are making some ice - some progress is good given the conditions...
Also, if you check forecast for next 2 wks, cold overnight lows will help build up ice. Just need to get thru this weekend. Personally, I plan on staying off the ice Sat - may get out Sun or Mon. Going to be post-front conditions Sun + Mon, windy + rising pressure, so not my favorite for fishing.
