Martel's open under new name - Story's Sport Shop

Good news for The Lakes Region Fishermen! Martel's has reopened. If you didn't know it closed this past summer when the guy leasing it closed it up with no notice to anyone. A lot of people got burned on gift certificates. The new owners have worked there for yrs while it was Martel's. Good people. So don't forget to give them your business. -Derek

That is great news.  last September I planned a 4 trip up there staying at some cabins, went to buy bait via the boat and was shocked it was closed.  Good luck to the new owners.  I'll be there.

AJ's is great,  but if you are coming up from the southern part of the state to fish Winnisquam, Martel's make more sense. If I am fishing Winni, I always give AJ's my business.
