Finicky blue gills
« on: Jan 04, 2016, 02:11 PM »
Took the whole tackle box, Spoons to tiny jigs. Caught many small fish and only  few larger ones. Wax worms to plastics.  Sight fishing in 8' of water. Right in the weeds. Very neg bite, Seemed every fish ate some thing different. Stayed with it that was half the fun. Holding bait still to very aggressive jigging. You name it had to work for it but they would bite. Many swing and a miss and fish that just would not go. Made for a fun day trying every thing. Kept a few for dinner.

Last year ran into about a two week period, that they got almost impossible, size 16 Marmooska, with a single strand of plastic cut off a crappie tube jig. I was amazed as to the way that small of a hook stuck big gills and crappie up to 14 inches. I really didn't loose many fish.
