Covering different depths
« on: Nov 29, 2008, 07:23 AM »
Does anybody on here run 2 baits on their tip-ups/downs, dead rods, slammers.... whatever? I mean something adjustable so you can fish a bait near the bottom and one just under the ice or mid-depth?

The thing is, some lakes have pike & lakers, which might be hugging bottom. And rainbows & brown trout and they're notorious for suspending. And they might all be feeding on perch. Or smelt & Cisco's  roaming out in open water....  And (currently) here in Michigan you can only run two lines so you're a bit limited in your search. Just looking for ideas, suggestions maybe.

Last year I experiment a little with sliding a swivel up & down my line and pegging it in place. Anybody else try this?

sounds like a good idea, my pike lake is also a splake lake, but i will have to check the regs in my area, for some reason I think it would not be leagal for me to tie on two hooks, at seperate depths, as it would count as seperate lines, and since most lakes are only allowed two lines (some 1 line) this method would not work for me....I need to dig into it..i like the idea...
