Jack trap users?
« on: Feb 18, 2015, 02:41 PM »
Any of you guys use the JT big bait release clips? Thinking of trying some out, but wanted to get some feed back first. I have used lobster bands and clothes pins but am looking for something more permanent. The clips are a little spendy at $9 a piece. Thoughts?

Use Dubro releases or small planer board releases fixed to the base of the tip up I have been using both for 30 yrs.

I have big bait clips on my 26" standard jack traps....they seem to work well...the largest bait i have used so far is 5" suckers and they worked fine.

I too use modified planer board clips that can be added or removed to the bottom of my Jacks as needed for either big bait or strong current situations.

I just shorten up the flag a little, and/or stab the bait full of holes

I use JT big bait clips on my Bib Bob traps. They are a little pricey, but the work well, they are very well made, and I like them.  I would buy more if I needed them.
