Tip-Up labeling
« on: Feb 01, 2011, 09:50 AM »
Only been ice fishing for a few yrs and have a tip-up question....never had my own tip-upa but came across a few and was think of trying out this weekend.  Now i am in New York and i know you can have 5 per man...but i heard you have to label them with you name.
My question is...what exactly is requirded to be on each tip-up and is there a standard way to do it/ or spot on the the tip-up to do it??

Benny, in Jersey, you need name and address.
I have brass trap tags that I use, put them on and forget about them.
I forget where I ordered them, but google "brass trap tagg" and your set.
I think I paid $10 for 50 of them.

I doubt it Benny,,,figure'n they need to be custom made.
I ordered and got mine in a week, and I think it was the first link that was on the google search.

I bought mine from the same guy, "Larry Finch Trap Tags". I use the copper two hole version and screw or pop rivet them to my tip-ups and other gear. I think the link is traptags.com

In New York you need your name and address. I just write my info on the flag with a Sharpie. If a friend uses my extras I rubber band my flag closed and make a new one with flo. orange duct tape and he puts his info on that.
