Title: Spool/Line holders

What good ideas to you guys have to keep the line on the spool of a tip-up when transporting?  Big rubber band?

Rubber bands work fine are are dirt cheap.  Put an overhand knot near one end to make a second small loop - this is helpful to grab in order to get it back off the spool, or to loop over a tine of a treble hook to keep it in place tight to the spool when storing.  While fishing, loop it over the tip-up frame and it will be right there + ready when your packing up.
I've also tried plastic tip-up spool keepers (from HT?).  They work OK too, but they come in different sizes and some I ordered too small.  Cost more than a band too!  Good luck

I use a rubber band too
make a loop to the hook then around the spool
cheap, easy and it works (just like me ;D)

I use a long strip of velcro.  Place the hook at the end of the velcro and then wrap it around the spool and cover up the hook with the other end of the velcro.  Works like a charm.

I grabbed a couple of my daughters hair bands. They are elastic and big enough around to get a grip even with cold fingers.
