I was looking up in that area for a trip in the same time frame...I called up to Big D's Bait Shop in Newport, the guy I talked to there had some good suggestions and data to help me make a decision. Ultimately we ended up booking a cabin up on Moosehead just so we didn't have to worry about driving around looking for ice.
