Looking for Humminbird XI 9 1521 Transducer
« on: Jan 26, 2022, 10:51 AM »
I tried posting on the For Sale page but couldn't figure it out. I am looking for a Humminbird XI 9 1521 ice transducer. Everywhere is out of stock, so I would be willing to pay full price even for a used one in good working condition.

They're out of stock everywhere and won't be back in stock till 2023. They're currently going on ebay for $350.....good luck

I am still using my 15 year old Lowrance X67c, while my brand new unused Helix 7 sits in it’s box because of this.  Oh well, I’ll get to use it this summer on the boat.

I've got 2 helix 7s on my boat, thought about rigging one up for ice and ran into the same issue. I too have an older lowrance x510c and a lowrance hds5 rigged up for ice instead of dealing with the headache of humminbird components availability.

Can confirm that FishnTech has had some stock. I bought the ducer + the ice bag (did not see the ducer alone for sale when I bought a few weeks ago). I thought it was too good to be true that they would have one in stock, so I messaged the company directly inquiring. Gary from FishnTech responded promptly, and shipped the order out as planned.

The shuttle I received was either an older one, or the Helix 8/9/10 shuttle i believe. It doesnt have the hooks for the ducer cable, instead has a threaded adapter for maybe like, a transducer clamp for the guys who like to rock the dangle off the side of the unit rather than the float. I did not complain, it works great - and i got my hands on the "heralded 1521."

It was worth all of the hassle and waiting I.M.O. replaced a cheapo Lowrance unit with the Helix and really have found it to be an upgrade, especially the A-scope flasher mode.

Looks like you guys jumped on and bought the rest of them from FishnTech. I tried to order one and it says out of stock. I guess since I was only going to get out ice fishing a couple more times this year anyways, I might just have to be patient and wait to get them at regular price when they become available again.

I even built a plywood shuttle to use with the 1521 transducer until I could get a HB shuttle later, to spread out the cost.  Maybe next winter we’ll have what we need.

FishNtech had what appeared to be a few of the HB conversion kits w/1521 ducer this morning. getting kinda late in the season, but there still may be some folks out there on the hunt.

Is there really that big of a difference from the ducer that comes with the helix 7 msi g3n? I just rigged up the one that came with because I tried ordering one and didn't realize that it said on the shipping that it would be here in 2023. So I canceled it and rigged that one up seems to work okay hummingbirds been kind of a pain in the ass for me I ordered two smart strike Western States and they're both were bad had to order a third

yes,
1st. easier rigging it,
2nd, different frequencies
3rd, better sonar cone angles

That said I've rigged and used boat transducers for years before I got real ice versions
