I tried it one day. I opened a 5 oz can and peeled the lid back 1/4 of the way and dropped it on the bottom in 20 feet of water right in the center of my tipup spread. I did not catch any pike that day, so my verdict is that it does not work. Maybe I should not jump to that conclusion after just 1 try ? ???

fish flavor canned cat food. freeze it, hook a line to it, open the lid some and or drive some holes in it. drop it down the hole.

I tried dog food once years ago in a paper bag with a rock. My house and close friends houses had a grease slick on all our holes. Zero results, we all moved because of the grease slick, they weren’t real impressed with me.

I have used a concoction of smashed garlic, coffee grounds and fish attractant. I can’t say it worked one way or another.

I've used soft  cat food made from fish for chum and caught some nice Northerns on  tip ups I set.
Should also work for catfish.
Be sure and check your state regulations to see what is legal first.

I jig with a half a worm and the other half goes down the hole. Seems to work great for perch.

Yes - when did catfood become more expensive than tuna?  That does not make any sense to me but I see that it is true.
