Good for him! It's nice to see many state records (crappie, lake trout) being broken in recent years. Did he say if he was fishing for cusk when he caught it, or was it a bycatch when he was fishing for something else?

That's my assumption too, I've caught many cusk (all in Maine though) jigging for lakers, just never heard of anyone targeting them with a jig.

I have a good friend who catches all is cusk only jigs and he gets big ones. I love the golden color of that fish absolutely beautiful does anybody know does he have a video of him actually bringing it up that's a great story
