I teamed up with my buddy Michael Romero and took a chance to search for ice this last weekend, and of course it paid off! We found a good solid 8 inches of hard water, and hammered down multiple species of trout! The fish were a little picky about the baits. Dead sticking seemed to do the trick in all ranges of water from 4-20ft. The fish would come in hot and interested in the dead stick but as soon as you pick up the line and jig a little the fish would became aggressive! Everything I caught was on a 1/4 oz tungsten jig with a small creature type plastic tipped on it, and a eurotackle Z Viber Micro, all in glow pattern. There is tons of fishable ice out there, you just gotta get up and find it!! Here’s a video of how the day went if you get the chance to check it out!
