-10 here in Slippery Rock right now.  Hopefully, that will tighten up the wet areas near the main lake and thicken it up a bit.  If anyone checks it out soon, please report back...

Got down to -13 here in Butler county last night. Would love to have heard how  much noise the ice was making last night

The area by the cabins in front of the island had good ice there at the point.

Made it out on Shannon's last night. Once again, many lookers but only a handful of takers. Most activity was from about 7:30 to 9 PM. Small gills and crappie. Definitely was cold. Truck said -1 when I got back around 10

I was out on the lake today at the bear run launch found the ice to be inconsistent. Ranged mostly from 3-5, found what seemed to be good black ice until I drilled it.

Thank you sir... I was just wondering about that.  It seems the midlake area is having troubles this year.  Best to tread carefully...

Thanks so much boys. I appreciate the main lake and other spot updates! Seems so wild to me when Shannon has what 8" and others areas are 3"-5". As a guy that has very little time but still wants to go out with my little ones, I hate to spend valuable time bouncing all over. Kids will only keep attention, dry, and warm for so long.

Main lake gets the most wind so it has more difficulty freezing than the bays.  I was there yesterday and still encountered slush on the ice and wet areas.  The eastern side of Neeleys had variable ice thicknesses the closer you got to the wet areas.

Not sure if I am too late seeing this, or where you're coming from, but Steiner's Outdoors and More in East Brady usually has live bait. They are about 35 minutes Northeast of Arthur

I'm in Pittsburgh, north park bait shop still closed and Neville Island doesn't have Minnie's yet. Might have to find a good hole in a stream and throw in the minnow trap

You can also get bait at Reddi bait in Bridgewater. They have BIG healthy shiners, fatheads, wax worms, maggots…. You can get on 68 right there and take it till you get to 79 at Zelie, or take 19 the rest of the way to Arthur. I know the bait shops are at the mercy of their suppliers for size of their bait, but I will say that I paid almost $4 less per dozen for these big shiners than I paid for the big ones last year at a bait shop much closer to Arthur. Just sayin…

May want to call Wills Sport Shop before going. It’s been a couple weeks since I drove by there but wasn’t open. May have just been away that day.

My reply is a little late, but Odonnells is closed on Mondays and closes early on Tuesdays. Hope that helps for next time.

I'm sure the ice is fine.  There was plenty.  The drag on the other hand is not going to be fun in the near future.  That said, without eyes on, I'm sure the midlake is sketchy again.
