Sandy Pond. Easiest drive and good for pike if you setup for them. 81 to Pulaski. Snow squalls begin in Parish so watch nw and west wind. A little further north for St Lawrence bays.

Gorton Lake?

Nope, I think it had an island. Was a fun place to paddle around in 5-6 fow and just couldn't keep pike off my line.

You have some major rivers near Binghamton. The guys are getting on them with this cold. Just have to find the slow-moving water deep pools. Safety first.
Buddy just got a slob on the Chenango river, just have to do your homework.

DEC contour maps lists NP #2 for Lower Leland. https://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/24294.html But maybe that wasn't it. Ah driven me nuts ever since I moved away from New Hartford. Anyways, lots of small lakes those areas that are fun.

Exactly 100 different answers on "upstate", to me North of Saratoga , I would choose Schroon. Others North of Rockland County is upstate, and is Western NY considered upstate??
Upstate engulfs everything north of Albany.
I wish we could just get away from that place. Such a burden to the state

i totally agree with callduckfarm, and i hate to admit it. we have a cottage on the lake and it has gone down hill quite a bit in the past decade from what it use to be. i fish the lake all year long and the numbers are down all around. ive started pike fishing elsewhere in the winter for the most part now.
